Privacy Policy

Scary Text is private by design: no accounts, no sign-ups, and all text conversion runs locally in your browser. Anything you enter into the scary text generator remains on your own device — it is never uploaded to our servers, which means we never see it. This page explains the few places where data plays a role and what control you have over it.

Preferences stored in your browser

To remember how you like to use the tool, the site keeps a handful of small settings in your browser's local storage so they are still there on your next visit. These values live on your device only and are never sent anywhere:

• Theme — whether you picked the light or dark look.
• Favorites — the styles you saved with the heart button.
• Preview size — the font size you chose for the previews.

Offline storage (PWA)

So the tool loads faster and keeps working without a connection, the site registers a service worker that stores its own pages and assets on your device. That cache holds only the site's public files — nothing personal — and you can remove it whenever you like by clearing the site data for scarytext.com in your browser settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to get a picture of overall traffic: page views, rough region, device and browser type. These are aggregate usage statistics — never the text you type. Advertising

Ads may be delivered by Google AdSense, which can set cookies to display, measure and (where permitted) personalize ads. You can adjust personalization at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of some third-party personalized ads at aboutads.info. Cookies set by external advertising providers once their ads load are beyond our control.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive only what you decide to send — your address and your message — and we use it solely to respond. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
